Fran, welcome to the forum!

To me, a great way to meet people in your area is to ask some questions.  Maybe something like " What to plant this time of year near Middle Tennesse?" or something like "Has anyone planted garlic near Nashville?"

I don't know what your interests are but would love to learn more about what you are interested in.

What sort of situations are you considering?   I'm up here in MA but considering at this point in life in cashing out and moving somewhere a bit warmer and less expensive.  At 51 I'm not getting younger, and while I'm able and appreciate my own privacy and space, having a like minded community to draw from with things that need more help is appealing.  I'm exploring options, not in any hurry.   I've got some skills and experience to contribute to the right situation:  animal care, farming, dog training, gardening, and some home improvement basic abilities.   I'm browsing the boards here to see what folks are doing/ looking for...
