I found my first
chicken of the woods mushrooms this week after a few days of rain! This is found on back trails at a
local state park I hike/walk my dogs at.
I used half of it (about 2 cups) sauteed in olive oil until soft and cooked through, added fresh veggies from garden as well.
After tasting, this was not very "chicken" like to me; more like tofu or scrambled egg in texture and taste. Decided it need "real"
chicken as well, so I opened a jar of previously canned chicken thighs and it was yummy! So mushroom, chicken, and fresh veg. saute!
