Can this mill grind hard roots, eg, mullein or burdock root? I broke mullein root into smaller pieces but they still destroyed a new Ninja Pro. Just need to break into smaller pieces, don't need fine powder. Want to infuse the dry root material into an oil.

May I ask why you want to grind the roots?

Would chopped or mashed to ensure proper exposure to the oil work?

Although a different use than the OP. Some roots are allegedly useful for making flours. I've been meaning to harvest more silverweed roots, which were supposed to be used for making bread. They go very hard when dried, so a mill may well be useful for breaking them into a powder for reconstituting into dough.

To Anne Miller: I'm grinding the burdock and/or mullein root to create an oil infusion, extracting the medicinal benefits of the roots. In theory, the more surface area of the root exposed means more recovery of the medicinal benefits. I don't need a fine powder: smaller, thin pieces of bark, eg, 1/8"-1/4" , should suffice as I infuse at a low temp for about a day. Mashing them up might work as that would increase access and permeability. Reluctant to add water to run through a meat grinder but may try a sample. The provided links were encouraging. Thanks bunches.
