Hi,

i have read that dispersive clay has very little friction when it gets wet and that it is therefore dangerous to
do water accumulating earthworks on slopes with dispersive clay.

Now given there is a slope with clay, what would you recommend to do to check for dispersive clay?

Given it turns out there is dispersive clay, are there tehniques that allow a "krameterhof-like" setup with lots of ponds on a steep slope with dispersive clay,
or should one not even try to do so for safety reasons (landslide)?

R.Han you better explain what

krameterhof-like

is and how it may apply to your place.
Photos of your site would help also

Krameterhof is the name of Sepp Holzer’s farm in Austria. It’s on a mountainside and if I’m not mistaken, has seventy two ponds along it’s slopes. The ponds aren’t large and flat but tucked into the hillsides instead. From the videos I’ve seen it’s a real marvel. If you have supported any of Paul’s kickstarters there’s a good chance you have access to long documentaries here on permies. If not there are shorter ones on YouTube that are still pretty darn cool.
