I am a husband, father and craftsman from northern Florida. I grew up on a homestead which I still help to operate with my parents. My wife and I, along with three, soon to be four, children, have a half acre just outside of town. We have a small shop where we smith, carpenter, work leather and other things. We have raised beds and also garden directly in the earth. My wife and I are curious and inventive types. We love learning and putting things into practice. I am pleased to be here and learn from you folks. Have yourselves a wonderful day.

Hi Paul! Nice to have more Florida permies here! My kids and I live down in West Central Florida but I've lived in Tallahassee and Pensacola in the past. I've also got a dear friend who is homesteading on 4 acres with her family just south of Gainesville. Where abouts in North Florida are y'all?
We’re in Flagler beach and have started a homestead- starting with poultry, gardening (fruit and nut trees, hugelkultur beds, perennials, natives, medicinal herbs, etc), and will be working on aquaponics system very soon! Just got four IBCs. Want to work on land utilization as I have 8 acres mostly wooded. I’m reluctant to deforest though. So welcome fellow Florida permie!

Hey Paul, I'm in North Florida too. My wife and I are also creative types and ready to create the next thing. We just sold our business of 12 years. Where abouts in N Florida are you? We're in Jacksonville for now. About to rock out our little 1/4 acre neighborhood plot with a garden and edible landscape that will make the neighbors want to go regenerative.
We have 2 boys 12 and 13.
Hi, nice to know there are people close who like trying to live sustainably! I am in Mobile on 3/4 of an acre. I have been building up the sand, creating guilds around my live oaks, working to grow half my food. I finally have flowers on my Loquat! Next, I am looking to put in a more passive form. of cooling by making a shade house on the north of the house and venting it from the enclosed crawlspace to the rest of the house
