Hi everyone!

I just joined the Permies forum and have been enjoying reading the valuable insights that the group brings. Thank you for creating such a wonderful community.

I recently bought 3 acres of land in the mountains in San Diego county in Southern California. It is a beautiful piece of land with topography similar to David Holmgren's Melliodora (At least I think it is).  It has gentle sloops mostly, with some flat areas and some steep slope areas. It has a cottage on it and I am planning to build the main house in a year or two. There is a spot that could be turned into a natural pond. The land has a lot of potential and it deserves to become a beautiful permaculture paradise!! I have watched hours of permaculture videos and read a few books. I could definitely use some help.

I am looking to build something similar to what David built. I considered taking a PDC course and using my land as the project for the course and hopefully collaborate with fellow students to come up with the initial design. But I see a few people on the forum suggest hiring a consultant. And I like the rationale. So I am looking to hire a consultant to help me design.

I am open to hiring experienced professionals as well as current or recent students of the PDC course. I can provide accommodation on the land in an RV while they work on the project. I am also available to work as an assistant to the consultant. What do you think?

Cheers,
Sid

Our members are very knowledgeable and if you have some questions I bet they will help you with anything you want to know.

I saw you had not gotten any replies and figured I would at least welcome you.

Hello, I can help you! I have a PDC and have a lot of wwoofing experience. I am in a current Applied permaculture degree class with Steve Hart (traveled with Bill Mollison and has 50 years of experience). I can help you at lower cost and add you to my portfolio for the diploma. Please let me know your costs and needs. We can work something out!

Hello Sid, I am not a permaculturist per se though my work substantially overlaps.  I got my start years before I came across it, I've long worked in and among, and it never made sense to circle back (again).  If you'd be interested in an ecological design/ radical sustainability/ regenerative horticulture consultation, I can provide you a bid after reviewing your design brief, survey or map, and budget-schedule.  I work in scale from 200ac to backyard, on objectives from watershed restoration/ hardwoods regeneration/ fire preparation forestry to subsistence homesteads, and my specialties are drylands, rain-water 1st/ gray- 2nd/ conveyed- least, Edible Plantscapes/ orchard-gardens.  You can reach me at ecOasys@hotmail.com.  Thanks, Patrik

You would be much easier to understand if you took that bucket off of your head. And that goes for the tiny ad too!
