Hi, permies, I need some help identifying some grasses in my yard.

#1. Cool season, love shady area, leaves very fine, wiry and smooth like hair, bloom in summer, form dense mat. They grow very well under the trees and nice to walk on.

#2. sunny spot, forms big clumps, leaves flat and long, with serrated edges. Compete with white clover. I usually remove the clumps manually in late winter with a chisel. Clover and various spring wildflowers then take over the spot.

#3. Warm season grass, dark green leaves, flat stem, looks like centipede.

#4. Warm season, arid area, small clumps, blueish hue

#5. Looks like #1 with narrow leaves, but grows in sunny area and blooms early in April

I guess it's too hard without the flowers. Gotta wait for a few months for those.

I am putting together a thread about turning the dry and barren area ( like in the 2nd and 3rd photos above) into the polyculture and edible lawn. So I feel like finding out what plants I have first.
