Hello!

I am currently in search of an extremely low wifi/tech to no wifi/tech farm or property that I can either pay low rent (around 100/mo) or work 10-20 hours for free camping space. I am looking for a place to tent camp long-term.

Situation:

I have trouble with technology. I am staying with relatives but because of the lack of sleep, foggy mindedness, headaches, pain, and other health problems, it is becoming difficult to recover after work.

I moved in with relatives to work longer hours so I could save money and move.  Also, I do freelance part-time and wanted to transition to full-time. However, I can't sit long enough to complete online work due to fatigue, lack of concentration, and pain. From January to around April, I used my laptop maybe twice.  I have tried to work non-freelance jobs but they are either in wired buildings or require extensive exposure to technology.  In terms of a career, I must think outside the box.

I can post this using technology, of course. However, symptoms and recovery time seem to correlate to the duration/strength of the exposure. I am hoping someone can help or give me helpful ideas.

About me:

I am over forty, have an advanced degree  (graduated recently) in a field booming with opportunities as a freelancer. My goal is to focus on getting REAL rest in a low or non-wired place so I can put in more work hours, earn, and save money. I also want to establish and grow a professional business that is not based online.

I cannot live or work long-term in wired environments. My computer, my phone, the wifi, my charger, my car (yes...it may be the Bluetooth), some lights, and the security system, to name a few items, make me sick. I have also gotten sick in places such as hotels, some stores, parks, and apartments. Wired places (wired meaning wireless).

I eat mostly vegan, vegetarian mostly due to my faith/beliefs. I need a tent space accessible by car. Electric to plug in basic things is nice but not necesssry.  I can pay extra for access to water/electric/bathroom or find an environmentally friendly disposal alternative if using camping facilities. I have a camping stove and can learn to do without other things, so I feel better. I would like to relocate to the Western US. I do better with the allergies/lower humidity in this region. I currently live in the Southeast.

I am a minority and a female.

I did not receive the liquid people are injecting. I look for a place that is supportive of this decision/right.

Skills:

Art (unfortunately,  I have been creating e-learning products, I sometimes create digital art for those products )
Cooking (simple such as biscuits, pancakes, spaghetti, soup, etc.)
Cleaning (don't trust your laundry with me, but vaccum, mop, sweep)
I have worked with children
I have worked/lived with animals (dogs mostly)
Pitch a tent
Automatic/manual transmission (never drove a farm/field tractor but am willing to learn)
I have no farming/homestead skills but want to learn (planting, harvesting, feeding animals, building a fence, house,  etc)

If you have any questions, let me know. Thank you!

Hi, Sabrena

Your post moved me.  I have lived in the deep south for over twenty years as an adult and saw the degree to which allergies can and do destroy clear-headed thinking.
I am currently looking for people.  Either workers or renters.
10 miles outside of Willits, CA    My allergies here are gone but for the poison oak.

This area is full of tall healthy trees and you won't hear a car all day, every day unless it is me going or coming.
The cabin that is open is currently on the morning rush hour trail for local Deer and Rabbits.
Large open room with wood stove in the corner, Bathroom has cold water sink, and flush toilet.   Sitting outside under your covered front porch you can see peace and quiet 365 a year.
Common area Hot water shower, washer, and dryer, kitchen, garden.

I am 65 yr old white lesbian living on disability.    Each morning I meditate while breathing in healthy non smog clean air.

My belief?  Permaculture is a god sent for lazy/disabled people like me.    I use to be a hard worker.

Here is the only rub.    I can die from the flu or covid.   Plus you can't even fly out here without a shot, can you?   If you decide to join the world, which takes the vaccination to ensure others less than them won't die, let me know.

Found my paradise deep in the redwood forest.  Linda

Hi Sabrena,

Welcome to Permies!!

You may want to look at the SEPPer Program here at Wheaton Labs.

Camping is a little more than you are looking for but there may be opprotunities to earn money to offset that.

We do have areas that have high concentrations of wireless devices, but we also have a lot of space where you can go an pitch a tent away for technology and minimal or no cell service.
