I've never seen that specific kind, but reel mowers are so nice to use. A reel mower is so much nice than a push mower (as long as you get a good one).
I like mowing barefoot, I like the smell of mowing, I like the gentle sound of mowing, I like mowing with my kids playing in the yard. There is no fumes and no huge amount of grass blown into your lungs. They weigh less than a push mower. All in all I think reel mowers are easier to use. I have a very large area to mow, and I feel less tired not having an engine vibrating my arms and the noise vibrating my brain. A lot of people think it is more work... I think it is less work, but maybe because I enjoy it?

We have one, and I love it.
It is by far the easiest push mower that I have ever used, rolling resistance is negligible. It doesn't do well in tall grass during a single pass, if you keep up on it it is a fantastic mower. We've greatly reduced the size of our law and this is what we went to.
I like Fiskars products they have a round nose shovel that is indestructable.

being half finish, i love fiskars products! xD love their scissors and my branch-cutter thingy and i think i have that shovel too! its of plastic and its stability amazes me. fiskars is one of the traditional high quality labels from finland with most useful, stable and easy to handle designs. in fact i am now wanting that mower lol!

I have one and it is my preferred mower. I use it on a 300 square metre lawn. I've had it for eight weeks now.

Positives

Because it is quiet I can use it early morning or late evening.

The height adjusts from 2.5cm to 10cm.

It shoots the cut grass in front of the mower. Not on my feet.

The leaves are cut crisper than I would get with me Victa Hawk petrol rotary mower.

No petrol.

No engine oil.

My wife who has never mown a lawn in her life uses it.

The wheels are inline with the blades, What I roll over is what I cut.

It takes the same length of time to mow my lawn as a petrol mower. less if I run. This includes the time taken to cut difficult corners with shears.

Safer than a petrol rotary because when I stop pushing the blades stop moving.

It's been a conversation starter with my neighbours.

Negatives

The front wheels are plastic. Part of my lawn is not level with my driveway. Sometimes I run whilst pushing it. Hitting the driveway whilst running damaged one of the wheels. Not a problem if you are in the habit of walking behind a mower.

My lawn is irregular in shape and has obstacles like small trees. It takes a little more thought on how to navigate the lawn. The mower needs to be moving to cut. I have torn the grass by being lazy in my turns and trying to pivot on the spot. With care, and the use of shears/weed eater, this isn't an issue - but such care adds time.

It is difficult to push if your lawn has grown a lot since your last cut. I keep my petrol mower with catcher for such rare occasions.

I give this reel mower 8 out of 10 acorns. I got one last year, and I like that I can adjust the height of the handle. THis is wonderful, because it means my 4 year old son can push it around. He LOVES to push it around. I move move the blades up to 2-3 inches so it's easier for him to cut and he's less likely to destroy the blade on the rocks. He's been using it since he was three.

It does a great job of cutting normal grass, and I like that I can cut right up to the edges of garden beds with it. That's a big plus. BUT, it does not just "crab" grass. At all. I can mow over the grass multiple times, from multiple directions, and it just flattens it down. And, though it has a three inch high setting, I've found that it won't really cut grass that's much above 4 or 5 inches. It just flattens it...or stops and won't mow at all. That's rather a bummer, because it means that if I go more that 5 days in the spring without mowing, I can't mow. My scythe comes in handy then, but a scythe isn't really good in small spaces.

This mower is also hard to get going. It's heavy, so pushing it up a hill is hard, and starting from a stop is hard. Once you get rolling, it's not too bad. I mean, like I said earlier, my 4 year old can push it around on flat grass, and my 1.5 year old can push it around on pavement. It's also hard to make tight corners. You have to stop, back up, and then go again in the new direction. I have a different reel mower that takes corners better, though it doesn't cut as evenly or well (I got this one because the other wan't that fantastic).

I love being able to mow my lawn without worrying about rocks or sticks flinging out and hitting my kids in the face. Here I am, pulling my daugher in a wagon, while pushing this mower. I couldn't do that with powered mower!



And I love that it is quite, and requires no power or gas. I just wish it cut that stinkin' crab grass better!
