Hello,

Due to a charger failure and a trickle draw I have six GC-2 batteries that are completely dead.  They had been lightly used for several years prior to this.  Any advice on rescuing them?  My smart charger will not even start up when hooked up to these batteries.

Thanks,
Jerry

I assume you have checked the fluid levels and acid concentration?

Sometimes connecting a dumb charger for a while will add just enough charge for a smart charger to work.

You can sometimes trick a smart charger by going through another battery to the depleted battery.  Optima batteries and some glass matt batteries when drawn down can only be charged with that slave battery in front of it.
