Hi there
I'm building at the moment and have a septic tank installed. My husband is not interested in compost toilets so I'm looking for a good alternative that is low water and as ecologically sound as a traditional toilet can be. I found an amazing option (wostman Eco ultra low flush) but it's suuuuper expensive. Anyone come across any other options that exist somewhere between standard dual flush and a compost unit?
Thanks so much

One of the issues is that the solids need water to push them through.
I use a standard low flush toilet, but Have changed the button so it needs to be held down, so I can flush until the solids disappear and them stop.
The pan is close to the septic and the pipes are steeper than usual to ensure it works.

Maybe a bit of a personal question but how often do you plan to flush this toilet?  In the super grand scheme of things, how much water will a used toilet from a salvage store consume over the next decade?  And how's that compare to the manufacturing environmental costs of a new toilet?  XXXX liters/gallons of water down the drain vs YYYY carbon/pollution costs to make the new fancy toilet...

My low flow one doesn't even do a good job of taking care of pee.  It doesn't rinse the whole bowl so some of the splattered urine isn't washed down and just smells.  I miss my old regular flow toilet...
