Was doing a bit of reading on enhanced weathering to pull carbon in the soil and did a brief search for appropriate silicate rock dust in the area, but found none.  Basalt seems to be a good one, but none in these parts.

I know farmers used reject gypsum in Oklahoma and lime in western Washington.   I have heard some granite product is beneficial.

I am in Montana and am thinking about trying some of the local rock to see if it shows any beneficial value...

Where are you located?

I’d look to local quarries and other rock processing facilities and ask if they can give you some rock dust they’d otherwise have to pay to move or dispose of. They may well also have a mineral analysis for this. If not, you could send this and soil samples to your state ag extension service. If the profile of the rock dust would generally fit deficiencies in your soil, try it and go from there.
