I hear there are some ambitious attempts at re- growing Chestnut tree stands again , after many years of the blight .
Does this mean there will be soon be good quality Chestnut wood for building purposes again along with oak ?.

I expect it will be at least 50 years before there is good chestnut timber available. But the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, and the next best time is now... I hope they get them approved for wide public planting soon.
