Hi permie nuts,
I am looking for chinkapin nuts. Does anyone know where I can find some? They ought to be falling off the trees right about now in North America. I am willing to drive somwehere and harvest them, within reason, or buy them from someone who has them, or whatever. I can send along some sort of trade if you are interested.

The only place I know of online that sells them is Twisted Tree Farm, which sold out in about five minutes yesterday, and I missed them, for the second year in a row.

Chinkapins are also known as  Castanea pumila Dwarf Chestnuts, or Allegheny Chinkapins or American Chinkapins. I am not talking about Chinkapin Oaks, which are different, and which I already have here.

Thank you! Just ordered some. I do not think they are especially pricey. 1/4 lb of them is about 100 seeds, which is plenty for my purposes. Thank you!
