I use two weather stations to get a good guess of what might coming.
I call one the Happy channel  (The Weather channel)
The other I call the Gloom and doom channel (national weather service)
By combining both forecasts we can make a good guess of what might happen at home.
Recently we had low 40s in mid-August! (unheard of)
I was thrilled as it allowed me to test fire my dragons.
Gloom and doom predicted those cool morning temps on the spot!
The happy channel said we would be 57F the same morning it was 43F!
I see coming up later this week on Friday night, the gloom and doom channel is predicting 35F!
The happy channel says 47F...
I'm guessing gloom and doom will be spot on!

Wow, winter is fast approaching in the Northern Rockies!

Yeah, I was thinking about that this morning. My house dragons are methane sucking, forced air huffing beasts, but I need them when an arctic high locks us into the -40C zone for a month.

I don't enjoy the first startup. There's a puff of house dust out of the vents and a burnt smell from dust on the dragon heat exchangers. I'll do it in the afternoon when it's warm enough to vent out the dragon breath with big fans and restore air quality.
