This is a community operating on a shoestring.  The volunteer staff keep it running.  We have come up with some vague guidelines to keep everything smooth and and easy.

Nearly everybody who posts here creates zero work for the staff.  Nice!

Sometimes there is a post that says

If this isn't okay, feel free to delete it.

or

If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it.

While the permission is nice, I think it would be better if you didn't post stuff that might need any kind of work from the staff.

Another angle:

Some idiot moderator removed my golden poetry.  You need to explain this to my satisfaction.

My guess is that for every 100 posts that the staff removes, I agree with 98.  Close enough.  And it is fair to bring something up ...  in a kinder fashion than using words like "idiot".  In those last two cases, I tend to still stand behind the volunteer staff, but sometimes when the staff explores it, the staff member chooses to "undo".

Next up:  if you pay us $200, we will explain it.  And if you pay us $20,000 we will attempt to explain it to your satisfaction.

I think when kind people ask kind questions, the staff tends to provide kind answers.  Which I think is a thousand times more than you will ever get from sites like facebook.

Overall, please note that it takes a lot of work to run this site and the work is being done by volunteers.  Please do not make more work for the staff.  And please be respectful:  these kind people are not your servants/slaves to do your bidding.

I also want to mention that anyone has the ability to add a forum to a thread - threads are neat that way, they can live in more than one forum for greater visibility.

At the bottom of each thread, there is a "Boost this thread!" button with lots of options including that one.

Their achilles heel is the noogie! Give them noogies tiny ad!
