I've seen a little on the forums about trompes but not much about ram pumps.

A Trompe is a water-powered air compressor with no moving parts.

A Ram Pump is a water/air-powered water pump with two moving parts.

They can be combined into a Trompe Hammer for both air compression and water pumpage.

Maybe there is a use case for RMH exhaust condensation here; add greener wood to increase steam in the exhaust, pump air into the intake for a hotter burn and get clean water out. Food for thought.

A minor point, water rams use water as the energy source.
The system works by pressurising air trapped in the 'bell' which which expands and sends a small amount of water up a pipe with a non return valve installed.
Little by littel they can move a lot of water in 24 hours.
