The back corner of my yard. It's mostly honeysuckle, callery pear suckers, blackberry, and poison ivy. There's some other aster things and pokeberry too.
I have some Jack o lantern pumpkins I never got around to carving, so I think I am just going to chuck them in the awful corner and see what happens.
Also pictured is a little box that I had some chard in, but now has potatoes planted in it.
Hi Brent,
When you were describing your awful corner... it sounded like you were reading a buffet for goats :)

i’d be inclined to pick a few favorite callery pear suckers and clean out around them and graft some eating pears on there. how awful can the corner be if things are happily growing there?

I usually just chop the callery pear and add it to the brush pile for hugel material. If I had grafting stock that might be cool, or it would be a tree full of delicious fruit and poison ivy keeping me away from it.

Ha! Ha!
My awful corner is the corner of the garden where the septic tank is. I don't trust the lid, so rarely venture too near! Currently raising a fine crop of stinging nettles (probably a sign the thing's leaking since they love fertile soil!). Maybe one day I'll get round to trying to make yarn with them again....
