Hey, let me (re-)introduce myself.  My name is Simon Forman, and I was active on here a little bit about two years ago, with a different email address: https://permies.com/u/317140/Simon-Forman  I'm back, just using my new email address.  For the curious, here's my original intro post: https://permies.com/t/143581/introduce#1123829
I'm still living in the city with way too many seeds and way too little space.  Fingers crossed, we hope to move in the next month or three, somewhere with room for chickens and gardens etc.

Ciao,
~Simon

Hello fellow Permies,  I'm back, again.  It's been over a year since I posted here last.  Quite a year, eh?

By way of re-introduction, my name is Simon Forman, I'm a computer nerd and ecology nut, I got my Permaculture certification from Farm Dave Blume about twenty years ago but I've never been able to really dig in and do some.  I finally got some land of my own a couple of years ago but events have kept me from it all this time.    With any luck we are just about to try again.  It's close, but we should be able to get situated in time to cope with the summer heat.

The general idea is to build a simple mostly self-sustaining village or neighborhood, then build more.

While futzing around in the city I've collected some materials, including:

- 150 fiberglass poles, six feet long
- 4800 square feet of greenhouse plastic film, 2 × 24' × 100'
- 3 pools totaling about 3000 gallons
- kit for small-scale ethanol production

And about five pounds of seeds.

Fingers crossed...

I want to say also that I'm very glad to hear that Paul is doing well!

I like the idea of a reintroduction thread, especially for those of us about whom something fundamental or important has changed since we first introduced ourselves here, but which we might not have talked about!
