Hello, I am looking around at land and have cycled through most of the ones on the popular google search sites, like redfin, Realtor, Zillow, landwatch, etc... I know however that with all things there are always niche, unorthodox or very specific sellers, its just a matter of finding them. Like for example... people that want to sell their property for extra cheap because its haunted, or maybe they need to sell REAL quick for extra money or something. Undesirable, weird or odd picks.
I am wondering if anyone knows any places like that and can direct me? I am looking for land at least half an acre, $15k or under, and within the Tennessee, southwest NC, or blue ridge GA area.
Thank you for your time, in advance : )

If you see land that looks undesirable,  or poorly cared for , see if you can find out who currently owns it and how much they paid for it.
Where I live, this information is available online from the county auditors office.
Land owners might be interested in selling  if you ask, especially  parcels with past due taxes or leins.

Auctions of real estate by state governments can result in properties with no minimum bid going unsold.
Be careful of course to not buy a site that comes with clean up obligations.
Greyfeilds can exist even in the county.
I rember reading about an Ohio man who bought a property that was piled with tires, not realizing he would be under scrutiny by the government to clean it up immediately.

If you have a particular county in mind you can call up the treasurer or tax accessor also look on their website. They sometimes have a back tax land sale.Tell them your looking for where the treasurer/government sells the property over the counter.I bought land in arizona this way.

I have seen simple adverts in newspapers, particularly small town papers.
