Greetings from the mild/wild/snowy/rainy/foggy/misty North West Michigan region!

We've got a great roots-like group of folks beginning to meet and plan/organize our very first Michigan Permaculture Convergence in 2013, including all permi-friends throughout the Great Lakes Basin and in the Midwest Region to consider joining us!

Here's the intitial invitation with the seed planted for this convergence:

“The idea of this convergence is to offer a new community-building/community-training vision, We will select a site and invite the permaculture designers in the area to create a space for the event to showcase permaculture elements.

When the convergence is over the infrastructure will be left behind for the community to use. This also creates a low impact event on the land being used for the site. It will also serve as an example for the community of a large event with a very small footprint.

Next year, the convergence will move to a new Michigan community and repeat the process.”

Join us to directly participate in the planning process and discussions via our website at: www.permaculture.littleartshram.org

Looking forward through all weather patterns,

`penny Krebiehl

Hello Penny,

Are you still around?

How is your idea of a "permaculture convergence" coming?

Can you give us an update?

Thanks

Hey Penny,

I'm moving back to the Ashland WI area from Minneapolis in a few weeks...Ashland is along the south shore of Lake Superior and a stone's throw (in rural distances) from MI. I would be interested in knowing what's going on with the planning of the conference as well. Look forward to hearing about it!

I'm looking at jobs in Michigan and Ohio. I'm trying to move to that area in the next year or so too...looks like we've got a few people interested in something.

I believe there's a fairly active group in Ann Arbor, but I haven't connected with them yet.

What are you looking for and where are you looking?

Maybe we can give you an assist?

Hi All, (especially Jay: should have invited you in the Cornerstone thread)

The convergence is happen Nov 1-3 at camp Talahi in Brighton
Folks from all over Michigan have already registered. We kept the price to a bare minimum so as many people will come as possible and hope that it will be less in future years, as we start hosting it on people's sites across the state and making it more permablitzy. This year there will be a number of local speakers, networking, a small work project and night time activities
