In filmora, there were a lot of effects and overlays I could use when video editing.  But I don't think Davinci Resolve has these - or I can't find it.  It seems to specialize in the actual editing side of things - which is what I usually want.

But I also want to put a flashing low battery sign on a video.  How would I go about doing this in Davinci Resolve?

(I don't want to make the video in filmora or put the finished video in there for this effect because I don't think the  video quality that exports out of filmora is as good as DR. )

So what are the words I can use to ask google to teach me this special effect where I can put something like a "low battery" sign we would see on a video camera on top of the footage?

Something like this, but more modern looking:

Could you find an image and over lay it for a few frames every couple of seconds? I know that's manual but if you can copy and paste the timing it shouldn't be too bad.

I don't know how to make an image with animations and invisible background.

I kind of wish that I could just buy a thing to put in the timeline or in fusion but I don't have the word to find it.

R, find me an image on the internet you like and I'll cut the background out and send it to you.

All you need to do then is drop it in the timeline whenever you want it to show.

https://pixabay.com/images/search/battery%20low/ may be a good place to start.

After this, I suggest you look into Gimp for picture editing and then using "colour to Alpha" to remove backgrounds.

I think I got it.

Maybe.

We'll see.

I went to canva and made a simple animation with a green background.  Downloaded it.

I should, in theory, be able to treat it like a green screen thingy ... um, anyway, I'll try this tutorial because it had chickens.

here's a different way of getting rid of the green background using the colour tab in Davinci.
