I'm been working to reestablish understory plants in my forest.  Based on the rock walls that run through my forest it was cleared for sheep in the 1800s and many understory plants that I love are not present.  One plant that I love and would like to add a bunch more of is giant Solomon's Seal.  I have planted a bunch and was thinking of dividing one of my colonies, but then remembered reading that Solomon's Seals growing on the west coast are thought to be better flavored than those on the east coast.  The thinking is that Solomon's Seals were loved by Native Americans and that those on the east coast have largely rewilded and lost selection pressure by those who lived here, while those on the west coast had selective pressure much closer to today and still have many of the better culinary traits.

Anyone know of good west coast suppliers of giant Solomon's Seal?  I'd love to start a few from those gene pools to see how they compare.
