I have been battling squirrels in the attic for a few weeks now.  Almost -- ALMOST -- willing to pay the critter guy his outrageous fee to come trap them.  I watched a YT video on "nudging" that explained it was likely a mother squirrel and her kits.  Tried annoying them as much as possible, but that didn't work.  So I bought some fox urine.  Wow, does that stuff smell!  If you have a sensitive gag reflex, I'd advise getting someone else to spread it.  I wore disposable gloves, sprinkled it on the corners of the house and the closest trees.  And I set a speaker up below where I'd heard them the most.  I played fox cries intermittently from dusk until 10pm.  I think they're finally gone!

Contractor plugging up the holes where they chewed through metal to get inside.  Here's hoping they are gone for good.

ETA: Well, it rained and the buggers are back.  Heavy sigh.  I'm trying the ammonia balls next.  If that doesn't work, I'll have to resort to the baking soda death food.  I hate to kill things (excepting mosquitos and flies), but they've had their warning.

Hooray, hooray, hooray!  The ammonia balls seem to have done the trick.  Holes plugged and I'm not hearing squirrel noises.  Hoping they're not just being quiet.

I think the fox urine might have worked if the kits were a little older.  But I'm happy I didn't have to deal with dead rodents.

(I've probably spoken too soon.  Crossing my fingers...)
