Jerusalem artichoke for planting

Hi I am just starting on a PEP badge and it mentions cooking sunchokes. Does anyone have some tubers they might share?

I do not have any at this time, but Etsy has quite a few supplies of different varieties! I noticed it when I was looking for seed garlic this year.

wow many varieties! Does anyone have any recommendations for which varieties would be best for zone 4 high desert/monsoon weather pattern?

I do not know specifically what types would work best for your area but I have personally been impressed with the hardiness of the Stampede variety. It allegedly also is one of the more productive of the varieties for tubers. They also store well which is a plus!

That sounds a lot like where Joseph Lofthouse gardens. He grows and breeds sunchokes. He also sells them. It may be too cold at his place already, they don't like to be out of the ground during a freeze. But maybe talk to him. He could let you know if it's good weather for shipping, if he still has some to share, etc.
