I am an Indian inventor. For a long time, I am continuing personal research about a theoretical machine that can extract atmospheric heat and convert that into useful power. Recently, while searching net, I have found out that the necessary machinery is already available in market. In short, the machine now can be built easily.
At present, I have completed the CAD drawing and done some ANSYS simulation testing. As per the latest simulation where the RPM was set of 3600, the torque was found to be around 1.52 for a machine of 35 cm diameter and the input wind velocity was set to be 6 m/s. For me, this is promising result and I can say that no wind turbine in anywhere around the world of that little diameter can generate such torque at this RPM.
In such a scenario, I am requesting for suggestion from others here regarding how go forward my invention. My main problem is  financial crunch. I am out of funds for continuing research this far.

Hello Prasenjit, welcome to Permies!
I've added your thread to financial strategy, but it seems to me that you may need a business advisor. Are you hoping to commercialise your idea, or make it freely available for people to make themselves? Does your local government have advisors that can help?

Hi Nancy,
I want to commercialize my invention and my local government doesn't have any program for individual inventors like us. The prototyping cost is my main headache for now. Whatsoever, I am ready for partnership.

I would suggest in that case the first thing to do is work out if there is intellectual property that you should protect - through patents or other means, once your product is out there people can copy it without giving you money. Bear in mind also that  countries do not respect intellectual property rights in the same way.
You may be able to go into partnership with a company in the same line of business, who would take your idea and commercialise it. I would suggest a strong upfront contract to mutual agreement.
Remember "Two per cent. is genius, and 98 per cent. is hard work". Even with a brilliant idea, commercialising it is the hardest bit - ask James Dyson! Obtaining a partner skilled in the marketing/financial side will leave you free to concentrate on making the product as good as it can be.
Financial help can be got through venture capitalists. I'm sure if you look online, or ask in a local business network you can get some recommendations. Crowd funding is another option - gofundme and kickstarter are two online forums that come to mind. Friends and family are the last and easiest option I can think of.
Good luck.

Hi Nancy,
I have already applied for a provision patent application. If I would be able to make a working prototype, then I will apply for utility patent application. But, to get the patent application to be approved, I need the prototype.

Hi Prasenjit, and good luck with your project!  I only wish I could understand what it is you are intending to build!

Conversion of atmospheric heat to electricity sounds like a fabulous idea to me, as we seem to have an excess these days 😉!

What I want to build is nothing but a concentrated wind turbine. This is not an exclusive product and few models are under research now. Many were already built and tested.

Recently I was listening to an audio book about inventions of times past on Librivox.        The pattern seemed to be the same.

Guy gets a wonderful idea then makes it, then can't get anyone to buy it and finance it,   next  someone steals his idea alters it slightly then puts his name on the idea.

Sometimes a person can find a backer like Tesla did with his AC electric motor with Westinghouse,  he tried with Edison, but Edison was not a man of his word and took advantage of Tesla,   Westinghouse kept his word and they moved forward with great progress like Niagara falls power plant.

Myself, I have moved to open source ideas as I find the business world is full of thieves, and people much more powerful than I am,  I would rather give my ideas to the world, and let the world use them as the world wants to, as I don't want to spend my life fighting for my ideas in court, life is to short for that.

Those with the gold make the rules, that is the golden rule.      Find someone with gold  who can bring your invention to public and give you a cut if possible, but so many companies that do that are nothing but scams.         Sadly the US patent office is much the same thing,   it does not protect the inventor but rather is another way for gov to collect $, and ideas.         Watch the film "Flash of Genius"   for an idea of our ruthless the world can be against an inventor.

Actually, after getting the simulation results, I am now sure that it will work well in reality. And it wouldn't take a big amount to build a working prototype. Just a few thousand US$, and it will be built. But, from a third world country, that amount too is big hurdle. Tough, but not impossible.
