Planning this year's garden. I'm making a pretty big bean tent and it seemed a waste to leave the inside unplanted. Are there any plants that would do well planted under there? Maybe carrots?

Some people use shade to lower temperatures which slows bolting in greens.
If you erect the tent early enough, it could act as support for a low tunnel, allowing an early planting of greens.

Edit: A herb bed of nasturtium,  summer savory,  rosemary and geraniums could be beneficial as well.
Aliums evidently suppressive nitrogen fixing bacteria.

I really like sitting inside bean tents when I make them. It's a nice shady spot to take a nap in the middle of the summer sun.
