Today I pulled out my phone to use the calculator to do some simple division regarding cutting some boards. After getting the answer, I incidentally tilted the phone enough for it to go into landscape mode, which is also scientific mode for the calculator. It made me laugh to see it had calculated my answer out to about 35 decimal places! What precision! So now I've been thinking about what I could possibly need with such precision. I think it would only take about 80 decimal places to count the total number of atoms in the universe. I heard Pi was only calculated to four places for the first moon landing. One thing's for sure; I don't think I need that much precision to cut a board!

Looks like mine cuts off at 15 decimal places.
That's not accurate enough for cutting wood! I need a better phone!! :D

Pearl, I knew you had an old phone, but damn! Only 15 decimals? Time to get with the program...

Jordan, feed that data to your saw, which will compensate for the Coriolis effect and continental drift during each cut. Trust me, you'll love the results!

Yes, and don't forget about temperature, humidity, the tides of the Sun and Moon (as well as the gravitation of all the other planets, asteroids, comets, etc.), our current location in the galactic plane, String Theory, and maybe even Brownian motion just to be sure. We need AI powered saws, I suppose.

That's the spirit! If you're going to do something, do it right.

Don't all saws have an AI brain already? You'd think so. Just yesterday I saw a coffee cup with a warming battery, Bluetooth transmitter, and an an app to control it from a phone. And that's just a coffee cup!

Haha, I just saw an ad for an automatic shit-scooping litterbox that sends you a message if it thinks your cat may need to see the vet!

She's brilliant. She can see what can be and is not limited to what is. And she knows this tiny ad:
