Howdy,
I'm not that computer literate, but thought to post this here,

its an ad blocker i use when I am watching movies/videos.  I do have a chromebook, don't know about iPads and the like.

My son, who is more internet and computer savey than I, set me up with this.

It is pretty straightforward, but can take a little getting used to. I find that it is rarely a problem, but once in awhile a website that I trust has issues with it. In that case, you can click the little red shield that you'll see up by your address bar in Chrome and you can turn it off for specific sites as needed.

Thanks for this! I was not aware that ad blockers would work on a Chromebook.

My Linux web-surfing boxes have Ghostery (set to "Block All") and sometimes Ublock Origin as well. It's amazing how much all that ad garbage will slow down older but perfectly functional systems. Ad blockers bring them back to life and allow many more years of service.

I don't use any plugins on my Windows work machines though. To me that seems like more surface area for bad guys to attack.
