Well my place of business is converting lots of paper Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) info to digital storage. So lets say approximately 50 bankers boxes full of sensitive government records. Incinerations, fancy cross cut shredding, milling and pulping are acceptable DoD disposal options.  Any good ideas to do this in a Permies way while keeping the contents of paper documents safeguarded. We also have a bunch of old documents that are being scanned and will be up for recycling as well. Thanks, John

I remember coming across an accountant quite awhile ago talking about gardening and hugelkulture.  She shredded old tax records and buried them deep in her garden beds.

Cross cut shredding and compost them.  Mix them with grass clippings and they'll go down fast.

Be SURE to shred them though, I'm a dumpster diver who has been horrified by what people throw away unshredded.

Maybe used as animal bedding then into the compost for a head start.

I have seen paper put through a hammer mill and used for insulation.   Insects and fire prevention would be a concern.

Hey, check out my mega multi devastator cannon. It's wicked. It makes this tiny ad look weak:
