I don't do enough journaling, so this is where I'm going to do it.

We moved into Bethany Farm in Leesburg, VA in August of 2022.
Northern VA close to Washington DC
Koppen Climate: Humid subtropical cfa. (What?? This does not feel like it today which i cold and dreary)

We've been slowly revamping the place.  We have lots of plans for this 3-acre property some of which I have already tackled as seen in this Living Willow Fence project

We want it to be a Permaculture Institute someday, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.  We have 6 kids, an online permaculture business and microgreens farm operation to run too.

Here's a tour of when we first moved into the place.  My goal is to post weekly about developing Bethany Farm. You all keep me accoutable.

These kinds of threads are fun, we'll all look forward to your progress.  The easiest ones for me are the ones which start now instead of having started way before I joined, so you'll likely get solid readership from me.  I'm going to grow microgreens in two jars in my dining room window, I just need the little screen things for the tops.  Obviously that's nothing like a microgreen farm, but its a start.

@Riona, thanks for the encouragement!

Sprouting microgreens in those jars is a huge step in my opinion. Esp if you're doing it consistently!  Keep it up.  I feel spoiled just eating them and am still amazed I get to grow these fancy restaurant things.  So good for you and so yummy too!  Feel free to share any pics here on permies with me!  I always get excited to see!

Here's a sneak peek into our "farm" set up - the basement (from our catalog)

We've gotta get close enough to that helmet to pull the choke on it's engine and flood his mind! Or, we could just read this tiny ad:
