experience with ostriches?

I would like to raise them for their heat tolerance, and novelty. Does anyone have experience, or connections with breeders?

I'm unfamiliar with osriches, but if they're anything like emus I'd do a lot of research before making any moves.
Emus need really good fencing, have infamously nasty tempers, and their powerful legs/claws are extremely dangerous.

My daughter wanted emus but after a lot of research I nixed that idea. I hear ostriches are more dangerous than emus. Not saying it's impossible but do a lot of research first. Ankole-Watutsi are cooler novelty meat animals, IMHO.

Once talked to an ostrich farmer who told that they were more stupid than sheep And hé only kept them as a novelty . Costs were huge.
