I was too broke when I saw the kickstarter at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/673303251/rocket-stove-instructional-dvd and I've seen an email about contributors getting their copies, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. Is it for sale?

I want to build rocket mass heaters for the greenhouse, hoophouse and the yet to be built livingroom/greenhouse. I absolutely have to have one in my greenhouse by October and it's almost July ...

Christine,
I did get in on the kickstarter, and I look forward to receiving my dvd. I expect that it's going to be something I watch a couple of times and share with some friends, but after that I could pass it along to you. I already have Ianto's book, and I've become a regular reader of permies.com and donkeyproboards, so I hope the dvd will give a visual perspective to some of the ideas I've read about and fill in some gaps in my education. Like you, I'd like to get my first rmh prototype working this year, but that's ambitious. I suggest reading like mad first. I'll try to finish with the dvd by the middle of August. Don't wait on it to start work on you rmh. I've been mining clay in my back yard, and I purchased an electronic thermometer with probes for the temperatures I hope to find in various spots along my flue path. Start now!
David

I just found out that the DVDs are $100 -- out of my budget. So I ordered the $20 plans for "The Annex: Rocket Mass Heater, 6 inch ducting" at http://www.ernieanderica.info/shop

I'll be glad to pay for used DVDs, maybe $50.

I never again want to be as cold as last winter!

It will be released VERY soon. We have a pre-sale up on our website at VillageVideo.org for $30. It will be $40+ once it is released.

*This is for the instructional DVD that teaches you how to build a rocket stove mass heater, not Paul's Wood Burning Stoves 2.0 DVDs.

It is a step by step instructional DVD that teaches you how to source and prepare all the materials and build a working Rocket Stove Mass Heater. Attached is a picture of the stove we teach you to build. It runs about 2 hours and it put together from lots of video (around 30 hours of source video) timelapse, still pictures, illustrations and Ernie and Erica's lovely mugs telling us what's going on. If you want to build a working and safe stove this is for you, if you can already build a working and safe stove and you're looking to tinker around you should probably get Paul's Wood Burning Stoves 2.0 DVDs, if you want to build a stove but don't want it to be anything like the one in the picture below then you should probably get both.

Ernie and Erica also sell plans for it on their website. It's called the Bonny Convection Bench. http://www.ernieanderica.info/shop

Thanks for the details. Now, you wrote above that it will be released "very soon". Does that mean days, weeks or months?

Very soon means masters going to the factory in days, like about 8 days. Then coming back from the factory 10 days after that.

Thanks again. Please post here once it went to the factory and you have a shipping date. I'm sure many people would want it before winter. I was hoping to be finished with the first stove by the end of September.

Yes. The $30 pre-order at VillageVideo.org covers international shipping for an extra $5 and us shipping is free. It will only be up there for a few more days.

I got my DVDs recently. And yesterday I got an email from someone setting up a project in Senegal, asking me for whatever useful information I might have (a mutual friend suggested that I could have such information). Rocket mass heaters aren't relevant, but an efficient cooking stove probably is. The Kickstarter is over. Will there be other opportunities to buy the DVDs? If not, would it be possible for me to get permission to make copies, for a suitable fee to the authors? Might it even make sense to set up a PayPal button just for that, if there are other people who want to spread the information, but who want to make sure the authors are rewarded for their work?
