I just stumbled across an interesting video and thought I would share. Some may have already run across this since it is two years old. Just the same, I found that the info was useful and I was grateful to see that many of the trees and flowers that I am encouraging in my "meadow" are on the list of keystone plants that support specialist bees and caterpillars.
Thanks for sharing! I love it when someone makes my garden design job easier with beautiful and useful summaries like this. Fun stuff!
“If we are honest, we can still love what we are, we can find all the good there is to find, and we may find ways to enhance that good, and to find a new kind of living world which is appropriate for our time.” ― Christopher Alexander
I particularly liked his attitude that if we have a foreign disease killing a native species, plant more of the species until you find one with natural resistance and then keep planting its offspring.
Thanks for sharing. I have an abundance of pollinators thanks to the diversity of trees and prairie plants around here. Here I check the list and not surprisingly many of them are the keystone species. I also plant specialty plants for a few beautiful butterflies (Sassafras, Pawpaw, milkweed etc). Combining both creates a garden full of life.

Story like this gets better after being told a few times. Or maybe it's just a tiny ad:
