Hello!
I am new here and
should also say that I am completely new to rocket stoves, mass
heaters and basically this whole world of heating solutions.
I'm planning a
wood shop build which is gonna be 14x6x3m (84m2, 252m3), (roughly 46x20x9.8', 920sq.ft, 9016 cubic feet). It will be stick framed and insulated. According to what I've read I require about 18kw to heat this kind of space. Winters here typically are fairly mild, -4 to -7C, occasionally dropping to -10 or below.
I was looking for options other than central heating so I landed here. I've watched videos and read this and that but it seems like a great rabbit hole and a bit difficult to wrap my head around how the physics of all this works, exactly what I need, how large I need it and how to build it.
My takeaways so far -
* I probably don't require a mass heater since I won't be sleeping there
* I would prefer to put a heater in the corner to save space but I suppose it would be a lot more efficient to put it somewhere alongside the middle of the long wall so that the heat spreads to both sides of the shop evenly.
I would appreciate any advice or guidance. Thanks!
