I'm going to need a thread to start tracking how things are progressing. My goal is to get BBs wherever I can, and try not to worry too much about actual badge completion. So expect a mix of sand and straw BBs all over the place as I document the things I need to do around my household anyway.

Then I'll have to figure out how to cross-link images

To be completed...

In progress:

Natural Medicine
Dry sage
Sage-infused vinegar
Elderberry tincture
Harvest and dry yarrow

Textile
make twine

Gardening
seed saving

Low-hanging fruits:

Natural Medicine
All the infusions (raspberry and lemonbalm are done)
Harvest and dry: , Rosemary, Oregano, Comfrey, Echinacea root, Peppermint, Red clover (to forage), Thyme, Stinging Nettle (already harvested, but might have enough left for a BB later in the season), Strawberry leaves, Rosehips (forage)

Use yarrow  to make it into an oil, then yarrow salve

Others - necessary
Leather maintenance on shoes
Sew a button
Sharpening knives
Sewing machine maintenance (my stitches are wonky)
...

Others - easy but optional
Leather thimble

More challenging/Longer term:

Forage black walnuts (will probably take a few years to get to 20 lbs as I only forage what I'll eat, and they are annoying to crack)
Forage crabapples
Forage wild plums

Sew a flat-lined walking skirt (cause that would be really cool, and I might have some nice wool leftover from my girls' cape project)

So... what's next

We're going into winter so my BBs will turn into more of indoor pursuits:

Sewing I need to do around the house anyway
- Hem kitchen curtains
- Hem my daughter's new pants
- Repair my husband's pants
- Finish avocado pit buttons and sew on my daughter's wool cape in time for Halloween

Things that would get me the textile sand badge:
- Knit a dishcloth
- Sew a patch on my magenta tee (perhaps with paper pieced hexagons?)

Maybe a few last minute fall BBs before first frost?...
- Forage for tea

Just registered for a two day welding class at a local Maker Space. Day two project is to make a pocket rocket stove!

(Not sure we actually have a BB for that, but it will help with the grain cooking on rocket stove one for sure. And I guess it can possibly count for an oddball BB?)

The start of a spoon because after fiddling all day with nasty software issues, I needed to do something with my hands.
