This is  a Badge Bit (BB) that is part of the PEP Curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

For this BB you will create a tincture out of elder flower or elder berries.

To show you've completed this BB you must post pictures of the following:

- picture of the elder flowers or elder berries, freshly harvested
- picture of the tincture being made
- picture of the finished tincture in its labeled jar.

I made blue elderberry tincture.  It is quite amazing how dark colored the tincture became without cooking or smashing any of the berries.

I got these in the last days of ripeness, set them to tincture and completely forgot about it until yesterday, but now I've got an awesome looking tincture.

I infused fresh elder flowers in vodka for a couple of months. It amazes me that I can start with clear vodka and white/yellow flowers and end up with such a pretty orange tincture.

My elderberry tincture is finally done, after a month of infusion. Any ideas what I can do with the leftover vodka-infused fruit? Some kind of boozy jam?
