Hi everyone,

I've been an occasional reader off and on for a while, usually on a topical basis when led to the permies watering hole via Google.  My wife and I recently moved here and have found ourselves on about half an acre of land inside of a subdivision.  It is entirely grass, save for the house, and while the grass is nice and all, I would like to begin doing what I can with the land we have.  My mom is an avid gardener which has rubbed off on me, and my dad's dad (miss you, grandpa) was a PhD plant pathologist which also rubbed off on me - so I've been interested in such things for most of my life.  My wife and I would eventually like to find a place with more land, but there's no sense in not plunging into the dirt we have now.  A great many ideas abound - trees, no-till food plots, a walipini, rain gardens, and so forth...the challenge is picking one new garden pursuit and sticking with it!  I have always enjoyed reading what you all have to say and I'm looking forward to engaging in the conversations myself now.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  The weather here will be wonderful - I sure hope the same is true for most of you!
