Some of our garden just isn't getting ripe, including a portion of our cucumbers. I would like to give some to the chickens, and some to the sheep. Google makes it sound like in moderation it should be fine but figured I'd ask here to be sure.
I give it in moderation (one per sheep but let them sort out who gets how much). If possible, I try to get them as old as I can so the seeds are mature. The seeds provide a small amount of parasite control. Not as good as pumpkins, but useful.
In case you did not know: the small unripe cucumbers make the best pickles. If you knew and still want to feed your sheep, I would assume the animals will be fine. Recently my sheep ate leaves from super toxic Sacred datura (Datura wrightii) and they did not care.

I know my chooks go absolutely bananas for cucumbers. I tend to split mine lengthwise and offer them that way. Between the sheep and the chickens, I think they will be chewed up in no time.
