Hi all,

Four weeks later and after only threatening to formally complain they finally finished my flue elbows.

Now i want to ask a question i should have asked a long time ago..

Will my rocket stove still draw if the flue system connected to the barrel then lowers about 10 inches below the height of the feed chamber before running through the bench? To compensate i plan to raise it up about five feet just before exiting the house. And i am not ruling out installing a fan if need be..

Thanks..

Karl Meisenbach : If you mean the bottom of your Burn tunnel, Yes to the lower horizontal start to your thermal Mass ,don't forget the Clean outs.

I am a little worried about EXACTLY what you mean by "Custom Built?'' Flue Elbows ? - Please Explain, pictures would be better ! BIG AL !

Late note, if you have a successful build with the final exhaust temperature below !00 Centigrade, you will want the last 5 ' to slope down hill to
deal with Condensation ! Still more worried about Manufactured Elbows ! A. L.

As Allen says, if you mean the bottom of the burn tunnel i made it like you say, the flue system 10" lower than the burn tunnel because i made an ashpit at floor level so i had to raise everything, and it all works perfect without a fan or anything. I guess the gases just keep falling until finding the horizontal pipe.

just curious ,what material and dimensions are the elbows you have made?
