Admist the aftermath of Helene,
My place (16 acres) in between mars hill and marshall, NC was spared.

Now is the time to reconnect and heal the land. I want to create income with the land via forest gardening, growing herbs, teaching skills, etc. and would love a business partner. OR provide land for someone to have some livestock or live out their dream.

This is our listing for hipcamp, but switching it over to long term people or camping for students.
HipCampListing

I'm a 31 y.o. Female looking for a few people who have experience living within a community, some off grid living skills they are willing to share and have initiative to create and conciously connect with the land. . Most people that have come through want to stay to themselves... products of our individualistic society, But I know COMMUNITY is the way.

Right now, there are 2 long term people (one in a short bus and another in a white duck tent) (We are all in our early 30s) The land is mostly sloped, but enought flat spaces to put up more dwellings, park a bus, medium size RV. There is a well, wifi, and electric(on the main level) 4wd vehicle is required.

I do not mind some smoking or a little drinking, I have had people that had issues with substances and I do not want to create that environment again.

Hi Allie,

As fortune would have it, my gf and I are looking to move SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of joining a homesteading community.  Western North Carolina has a lot to offer us, but we don't know anyone in the area.  I'm 34 and Natalie is 29.  We have only ever lived in cities so moving to a rural area alone is pretty scary.  The lack of community is the foundational reason WHY we are moving away in the first place, and we admittedly have no tangible homesteading experience.  I build things and dabble in gardening, and I'm armed to the teeth with eco-conscious knowledge, but we reside in a shed (like a tiny home I built) currently so there's not been much opportunity to put it into practice.

I want to be upfront though that we are looking to buy our own private home (mainly for raising kids), and have that home be super plugged into the community with some additional dwellings and some "don't bother knocking, just come in" kind of energy.  Potlucks and frequent visits to yours and ours.  You mention a business venture, and it's worth noting that my degree is in small business entrepreneurship.  I don't think we are the clients you are looking for, but we could be something of a cooperative business beside you if you're open to that.

I am totally new to Permies.  I was directed here from elsewhere on the internet.  Idk how to "add friends" or start private conversations yet.  Maybe I'm already old.  Shoot me a reply however that's normally done.

Kenny

I would want to live simply, without much accommodation to have a simple structure and to be growing all that I can grow for subsistence, with any others who would join in that, for food, medicinal herbs and materials. I have some bit of experience out away from civilization where I took part in planting and helping grow useful vegetation from seed, and ways of living very simply, I would just move to more natural ways of farming that I have been learning about. I would yet hope to find others who would join to take part in this way.
Contact to me can be through a purple mooseage here or better yet, with identifying response is to me here in Permies Forum site, message me at vegrox@aol.com

I am interested in finding out more about what you are doing with your land and what your future plans are. I like to travel and potentially would be interested in visiting this spring to find out if living there more long term would be beneficial.  You can contact me at brotherandy@live.com

Hey. I like what you're doing. Keep it up!

My advice is keep things simple. Start with what you need to survive. And as far as skills you need well you could always barter what you have for skills you need from others in the community. What you are trying to offer is like a mini grocery store or apothecary. Be creative and use your imagination. You got this far let your divine feminine intuition guide you along with the spirit of mother earth. This is what our ancestors always loved. It is already in our DNA.

I'm 35 yo man. I currently live in pa. I work as a water operator. I'm getting my things together would eventually start traveling next year. I'd love to stop by your way and help you with any manual labor or anything water related plumbing irrigation etc in exchange to let me stay there. I'll be living in a van.
