I made a mistake. I will be dealing with it today. I didn't get a 50 pound bag of potatoes put away airtight from the apples. They are all considering sprouting due to the ethylene the apples give off.

Is there anything I can put in their space with them to influence them to stop thinking about sprouting? I have an ozone machine, I could dose them with ozone.... ?

I really need that bag of potatoes to last for several months.

The year I laid them in layers in buckets of cedar sawdust, then put the buckets in a non-functional freezer (ie *very* dark) they lasted longer than any I've ever tried to keep.

They smelled faintly of cedar when I got them out, but it didn't affect the taste. Cedar is known to discourage other plants, but I didn't do a comparison with a different type of sawdust.
