To make the point of the post more clear I rephrased my OP.

Given the political climate, what projects are you completing that allow you to be more independent or community focused so that the polarized nature of politics and US government has less effect on you?

I would say the projects could impact you mentally and/or physically to make you more resilient.

One recent activity for me is that I am working on a chicken breeding project alongside my rabbit breeding project. I have sourced both locally so I am not trying to get the biggest chicken or the best layer, just a mixed flock that works here for my environment.

To do this, I am expanding my existing coop/run somewhat while I figure out how it is all going to work.

Currently we produce all the eggs we need and some for barter but the meat side of the chickens is what I am working on. The meat rabbits work well as a source too and the chickens will add some variety.

The implications of this are that no matter if federal regulations on chickens/eggs/avian flu increase or decrease, we will not be negatively affected at home.

I can tell you, my plans haven't changed due to the political climate.  My plans are always the same, keep moving closer to self-sufficiency.  Plans include my RMH'd greenhouse, a new and larger garden area, adding to the food forest, increasing compost and integrating chickens into it more heavily and on and on...  I can't see any election results changing my need to move in that direction.

I agree that moving in that general direction is not affected.

However, I posted this in the CP because the election results do affect the industry I work in. That, in turn, affects my ability to apply certain amounts of income to certain projects. The amount of resources dictates the number or quality of the projects I pursue.

I am able to prioritize certain projects that may be high quality or extensive (read more expensive) under certain economy conditions for my segment of work.

It could be the opposite soon if someone was reliant on imported goods and the tariffs come to pass, for example.

I agree with that.  If the cost of materials goes up, that will definitely affect which projects I can work on and in which order.
