We've got our backyard food forest started, but looking to purchase additional property for a community center that will include a food forest, commercial kitchen, classes for students of all ages, and event center. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for permaculture that includes supporting the next generation and their families learning these vital skills! Our Mesa, AZ campus is focused on holistic education (private & homeschool support) with a small garden.. here in Sierra Vista we have the opportunity to do a more complete community center!! We can model so much with just a few acres in the middle of this amazing town.

health, food, teaching, talent development, real skills, leadership, food forests, natural play, gardens, community kitchen, etc..

If you see your passion/talents fitting into this community, we'd love to meet you soon!

A few business notes:
we do not want employee/employer dynamics
we encourage independent individuals to work together with healthy boundaries and transparent mutually beneficial agreements
we build community teams organically with individuals who choose for themselves how they want to participate
we follow the values of Conscious Discipline (high emotional intelligence, no punishments/rewards)
we love passionate people who respect each other's autonomy
there could be opportunities for living on site
YES we want to build on the model we have had working for over a decade and then help inspire more communities

Welcome to Permies, Kathryn! I hope you find some good members of your team.

There is a great thread on how permies works if you want to learn a bit more about us.

Progress!! We've now got another 3 acres in Sierra Vista, AZ and our Mesa, AZ campus is going strong!

For the 3 acre Sierra Vista property I'm looking for someone (or a small family) who can help with the property as we convert it from a pistachio (and pomegranate) orchard into a food forest. There's a house on the property that we're converting into the education center (school, community events) and there's room for another dwelling to be added (temp or perm). We've got well water, mild winters, an amazing growing season (long enough for 2 growing seasons).

*Our current food forest (in Sierra Vista too) is flourishing!!

My ideal team member would live on and help develop the property, help run a market for all the abundance, and teach classes/workshops at our center.
