Hello all and sundry,

Relieved to stumble across such a forum. I thought these things were long extinct. I've been a city slicker for a quarter-century now (even when I lived in the country) but I am very eager to change and learn from all the good people here. As far as any experience goes, everything I know about cultivation is relegated to the potted vegetables on my rented concrete porch. I hope to move out to a more sustainable place this fall. Excited to learn and grow!

Best regards,
Martin

Welcome!

Container gardening is valuable, even with plenty of acreage. I find it trickier due to the heightened watering needs but it is rewarding nonetheless.

I hope to hear about your future plans as they develop!

Hello Martin - friendly bunch here, always willing to help.    While waiting for the rains to come (fingers crossed) I'm getting started with a bunch of small self-wicking containers for over-winter greens, to be cut whilst small . . . things like rocket, baby spinach, non-hearting  lettuce, coriander and whatever else I find in my seed stash.

In my part of Texas we just had rain, sorry you did not get any of that.

Asking lots of questions is a sure fire way of getting to know the forums!
