I was wondering if anyone here had used raw unwashed wool directly on top of a plasterboard ceiling? Does the lanolin leak out and damage the ceiling? Or anything else weird? And is it likely to encourage rodents?

Did you just insulate the ceiling by putting the wool loose into it? Or did you felt it or do anything else to it first?
