Hi!  I foraged some seed pods in Lake Havasu from trees that all looked like some sort of acacia or wattle.  I have no idea what these two are.  Seed pod identification is something surprisingly hard to find on the internet.  I should have taken photos of the trees they came from, alas I did not. Anyone recognize these? (the pen is for size comparison, I know it is not a seed pod - for all you jokesters out there!)

Is that an individual seed in the middle?

Good job you highlighted the chance of random jokers being unable to resist a comment!
Recommend an image search for "Arizona trees that have pods"   - lots of images, but since you are more familiar with the local trees, perhaps it is possible to find a match.  Good Luck

Leaves and flowers make identify plants easy.

The bark of trees also help.

I feel that you surmise of aaccia or wattle might be the best bet.

I look up the Audubon field guide for bushes in the pea family. Maybe you can narrow down a bit.
