I have not previously considered the usefulness of wild roses besides perhaps being a pretty barrier!

You mention a difference between the effectiveness between white and red flowers, but that you notable go by scent. Are there, generally, only two colors found on wild roses?

I have seen lots of pink ones as well.  But, I mostly have white growing where I live.
