I just found out about a solarpunk art contest that is on until August 20th, 2025.
There are decent prize amounts for the top 10 pieces and all mediums are welcome. I did some quick checking on the guy doing it and he seems to be legit and wants to promote the concept.

I've been thinking about it and I think I'm going to go with a wearable piece. I'm still working out the design but it's nice to feel inspired!

from Dian's link:

Solarpunk tells optimistic and hopeful stories about future societies (near-future or distant) powered by renewable energy, and where nature and technology coexist in harmony rather than in conflict. This is a subgenre that’s about restoring the web of life that connects us all. It’s about a desire to protect all life, not just human life. It’s about the drive to embrace and empower life, and restore the planet.

Sounds like a future to work towards....

I think you would definitely qualify! The portfolio thing is mainly, I expect, to both have a place to send people who see the artworks and want to know more about that artist, as well as letting him look at other works so he can see that it is genuinely made by you.

I don't think it's really needed but it generally wouldn't hurt to have someplace online you can send people who are interested in your art.
I have my old blog, my old etsy and the tumblr account that went with it, Facebook and instagram. None are really active now since I'm pulling back on using those platforms, but they do show a long history of work. I've started putting up newer stuff on bluesky but haven't posted much yet.
You could even just link to your art stuff here.

With our move, and setting up the new house, along with dealing with some family stuff, I just haven't done much making of art in the past three years or so. I'll have to figure out where the new stuff will go soon!

I've roughed out a design for my concept and went digging through the stash.
It's so good when you can find what you need in not only the right weights but in a good color range as well.
I still have a bunch of measurements and calculations to do, as well as some testing mockups, before starting the actual piece, but it feels like it's already coming together!

Well, I've sent in my entry. It was good to have the inspiration and time limit so it got done quickly.

I'm not getting my hopes up about winning, but at least there is a chance, since I did get the entry in.

It's a wearable bag. All secondhand materials, even the equipment used. The bottom expands so it can carry more if needed. There are clips on the back for large awkward things and the clasp means the strap length is adjustable.
Decorations are mostly things that can be used or trade goods.  Copper, conductive thread, fishing lures, antique coins, shells and stones are all used in the patches.
