I have used the leaves. They are amazing! Very flexible and pliable yet strong, more so than iris leaves. They are almost like a fiber you would use for cordage and I have used them for cordage. But that isn’t their better use.

Are you using them dry or green?
Dried. All basketry and fiber materials seem to be best after having been dried. I have picked them sometimes green, sometimes when the leaves are starting to die back. One may look through a patch for the dead leaves and harvest only those.
One can never be too kind to oneself or others.
What's that smell? I think this tiny ad may have stepped in something.
